oh man, brian, sorry this happened buddy, been there a few times, and know the worry that overwhelms you, hopefully its not to bad, or at least can get anthony to press it out
Hello tom. I talked to anthony he will press the page for me. Hopefully it will get the bend out.
Ouch! What happens next? Do you accept it and hope to get restoration or contact HA to get compensation or refund?
Hello marcus. I immediately contacted heritage. They were fantastic. Even though it wasn't their fault per say. I submitted the pictures to them and they were willing to reimburse me the total of the page. The problem is that I am trying to put that book together and didn't want to lose the opportunity to it. I talk to anthony and he said he will press the page for me and hopefully it will get the cease out.
Brutal man, sorry to hear this - hope you're able to get it pressed out.
Thanks anthony said he will press it for me so fingers crossed. I guess 30 plus years of collecting artwork it was bound to happen. Just disappointed in fedex overall.
I've had massive (although different) problems with FedEx in the last couple of Months. Delays, disappearances, lack of info.
they used to be the go-to courier service.
no more.
I have always use priority mail and never had a problem yet (knock wood.)
Ugh sorry to see this. Sad state of affairs with Fed Ex for sure, that sucks - glad to read HA made it right and that you may be able to get the crease pressed out but anytime something like this happens it takes a little enjoyment out of the hobby - I've had issues with every carrier myself - but luckily it's been awhile.
Thanks kavi. Like I have mentioned in a previous response. In over 30 years of collecting this is the first time it has happened. Fortunately it was a very expensive piece. That would have been devastating. Not about the money but these are one of a kind objects.
That really sucks. Hopefully no Richie Rich pages were harmed.
no were harmed but my JSA piece took a beating.lol
I had a fex ex delivery like this, which is why I always warn people against using them. Their customer service is awful too.
Hello peter. I don't use them at all. I have heard horror stories from others about them.
I do not deal with people who use them either after several horror experiences. Bizaarely, several big dealers and auction house continue to use them.
Sorry to hear and see this, Brian. But based only on the level of bending of the package I see, I have a good feeling that the crease can be pressed out. I look forward to seeing tou post the art when that happens, hopefully with a photo of the art as it looks now withthe crease in it.
thanks Ruben. I talked to Anthony and he said he will press the page for me. Thank goodness it's not a high priced page . I will post before and after pictures when it's done..
As much as FEdEx sucks...and they do, that does look like an adequate packaging job either. Maybe a word to your Heritage rep. Good luck with the press!
true.it could have been packed in stronger material.
Oh, good - you understood despite my opposite meaning typo. As someone who has seen the inside of a distribution center, packages abslutely have to be packed for throwing and kicking. Nobody at FedEx, UPS, or USPS is handling anything with care...and in most cases, don't get paid enough to care. What do people think happens in there, I wonder?
sorry to see this. im no defender of fed ex because they can be a ruff crew for sure. i would also mention that the packing effort from ha can be absolutely abysmal.
yes latley it's gone down.
That terrible i use fedex to ship but i always use masonite too. HA use to send art in a box before wonder why they switch to mailers. Best of luck with the press.
peobably cost for lesser value items, Masonite would slove that problem
I had that happen to a package I sent out, double boxed with several slabs of cardboard. It hurts!
I have seen them stand at the bottom of the stairs and throw boxes.
Should you not switch job if you hate it so much you have to vent your anger by ruining other peoples stuff?
Lazy and stupid. It's contagious in the work force.
It’s always the same problem with unreliable delivery drivers
I use ups priority mail. Never had a problem.
Sorry to hear that this happened. I hope that the pressing does the trick.
I don't use them either. The exact same thing happened to me a few years back but it was even worse because my package had three pieces of art inside. Best of luck with the pressing and also good luck with putting the story together.
Thanks. Sorry to hear about your problem.
Ugh. That sucks. I had a package arrive bent like that last year (USPS was the culprit, but it didn't help that the packaging was inferior). Would very much like to hear how things turn out after Anthony presses the page.
Not sure if you saw this when I posted it, but it could always be worse - I had another page destroyed by the USPS last year - you can see it here - https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=2210723
Sorry to hear about. Your stuff. It sucks big time.
Ah man, I just had Fedex crush an expensive print I've been chasing for years. Sellers should be packing things better too.
So true.
