Original Art to Rick O'Shay, for the May 15, 1961 (5/15/61) episode, published by The Chicago Tribune syndicate. It features artwork by the brilliant artist Stan Lynde, and is a classic edition with 4 large panels, featuring Rick O'Shay and tribal medicine man Flash-in-the-Pan! This is a classic episode from early in the series, and these early pieces are hard to find and rare, as they do not become available very often. The full piece measures approximately 7 1/2" by 23". It still has the original syndicate copyright sticker attached in the final panel. You can see there is discoloration and staining from the zipatone shading that was used (very common on newspaper comic strip artwork), as well as general handling wear and slight staining/foxing to the paper. Classic early pieces do not surface very often, and examples like this are tough to find, so don't miss a rare chance at a classic piece of comic strip art. This is a great piece that would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed, and would be an outstanding addition to any collection.
