Description

I believe the saying goes, “Where there is smoke, there is Fire Walk With Me”. Twin Peaks Summer rages on as the smoke from the Canada wildfires has officially arrived here in West “By God”. The air quality isn't safe here today and it has officially been announced that neither are the Taco Bells. We all knew that decades ago, but to see that running joke come to life via parasite is really something.

On to the art, we have something just as scary with another cover from the Wrapped In Plastic publication. This time Craig Miller brings us a menacing Bob with Laura Palmer translucent hand overlay. It makes for a very fitting cover image for the “Killer Bob Issue!”, even though that wonderful stat is missing on the original art. Out of all of the missing stats in the universe... I think they all end up going to the same place as the missing socks. Also worth noting that this cover was originally drawn and labeled with an Issue 2 stat, but was published as Issue 3.

The concept for this cover definitely works. The translucent hand reminds that Laura is not physically there and also represents the different realities in the series. The inclusion of the ring on her hand is a nice little detail and serves as an effective identifier. Bob was played by Frank Silva and we get him mid scream here. The facial expression alone is a very memorable representation of the character. When I look at the published magazine in color, I have to laugh though because it also reminds me of an old WWF wrestler just before he's about to take a blow! I think it's mostly because of the long blonde hair but this could easily double as a promo piece for Greg “The Hammer” Valentine. Also, get a load of that columella!

Bob is all of us today in disgust!  A nice walk down memory lane at how much fervor there was for this cult classic.
