Description

This is the one that started the whole coffee-drinking artwork theme.

I really enjoyed Casey Jones work on Excalibur, and when I learned that he had some artwork available for sale, I decided to try and obtain a page. I didn't have any specific pages in mind, I just figured if I saw something I liked I'd try and get it. Most of the really good pages were already gone. Of those that were left, this one really stood out. I liked the mood of the page, as Brian Braddock, aka Captain Britain, contemplates his future. Casey's art is really expressive here, so much so that it communicates what is going through the character's head even without any of the lettering present. So I purchased this one.

After I received it, reflecting on the page, I observed that Captain Britain had a cup of coffee in hand, and I joked to myself that I could always start a coffee-drinking themed collection of original comic book artwork. Only, the more I thought about it, the more I felt that it would be a really interesting thing to pursue.

Thanks for the kind words on my gallery - although it pales in comparison to yours! I really dig the coffee theme and am especially jealous over the Dave Cockrum pieces and the John Lucas piece. I'm sad to say I never had the good fortune to meet Mr. Cockrum, and I've been talking with John about a cereal piece for months now but haven't been able to go ahead with it up to this point. Anyway, thanks again - great collection!
