DescriptionByrne/Austin Spiderman page...This is the third splash in the book. Getting this redeemed me in a way. Back in 2004, I was at Wizard in Chicago and was thumbing through a bunch of art pages when a came across a Byrne/Austin page from this book for 400$. For some reason, for which I will be eternally haunted I passed on the page. Then this "popped" up and I was able to talk the other CAF out of it (thanks Lee). My all time holy grail is the title splash from this book....in the collection of Mitch Wilson. No joke Mitch, please give me a shot at it if you ever decide to let it go. I think the pages that B/A were doing at this time in their runs were absolutely off the charts.Social/Sharing |

This story was a high point of comics for me in 1979... just great, great stuff! Congrats on finding a page from this masterpiece!

I totally agree about the "... absolutely off the charts." comment. The work was amazing. I loved this book when I bought it, and this is a beautiful presentation!
Congratulations!

You and I have very similar tastes...YES..this issue is SPECIAL. Byrne and Austin were absolutely at the top of their game here. I have the chance to buy another page years ago and passed..(so stupid).
