You can close the book on Dave Cockrum X-Men. You have to consider yourself most fortunate to acquire an example so perfect. This is a Grail Cockrum X-Men. Your smile lines must be hurting. :0)

This splash is better than most of the Cockrum/Byrne covers. He managed to fit all of the X-Men at the time without making the characters too small or too jammed together.

You know, I take a few moments to look at this every time it cycles up on the front page. You gotta admit, it'd be shocking if there was a kid who DIDN'T sharpen up some pencils and at least try to draw superheroes after reading this book.
