Description

Here's a super cool little item. This is Dale's hand drawn and hand colored layout for his alternate cover to the brand new Hulk #1. When Dynamic Forces originally hired Dale to do the cover, he submitted a green Hulk layout, not realizing or being told that the Hulk he needed to draw was actually going to be red. As you can see in this piece, one of the main things Dale changed in the published Red Hulk cover is the Hulk's head and facial expression. While I feel the actual cover artwork is a true sight to behold, this colored layout certainly holds it's own and possesses a unique charm that only Dale can deliver. Enjoy!

It's just mind boggling that this is Dale's "layout" Phenomenal art, that only looks like a "layout" when compared to HIS finished work! I'm still shaking my head at how amazing that is!

I like the facial expression in this prelim better than the finished cover. But they're both great pieces.

Dale's layouts are better than most finished covers of other artists. I always enjoy comparing the original layout to the final finished work. It gives us greater insight to the artistic process. I hope you frame them side by side along with the published cover. Cheers! N.
