My favorite page from Joe and Tim's run on Astonishing X-Men during the Age of Apocalypse storyline. It features Rogue, Blink, Sunfire, Wild Child, Holocaust, and Morph just being Morph. I just love the exchange here between Rogue and Holocaust, as well as Morph's quippy remarks (and the page is all the better with the text balloons there). Suffice it to say, this one's a keeper.

This. This to me is Joe Mad. I know people love Battle Chasers and other stuff but the Age of Apocalypse storyline was, to me, the pinnacle and this page perhaps the pinnacle of that! Congratulations

Thanks, John! I go between Age of Apocalypse and Joe's later X-Men run as my favorite era of his, but there is something about his AoA work where he found the perfect balance between his traditional superhero and manga influences.
