DescriptionLeslie Illingworth was a longtime contributor to Punch magazine. He was the second-in-command to EH Shepard at Punch. Illingworth's work display's a keen, draftman's line, while also incorporating some cool textures. This wonderful cartoon appeared in Punch. Though it is undated, I'd put it circa the 1940s. The caption on the back reads, "...when you step out of doors and see England in Springtime itself."Social/Sharing |

They don't make pieces like this anymore. Very nicely detailed.
