Devil Girl sketch by Phil Noto (SDCC 2008)

My budget was, yet again, extremely limited during my attendance at San Diego Comic Con 2008, and this was most unfortunate because of the beautiful paintings that Phil was producing for sale at the convention. I saw paintings of his Devil Girl, Elektra, and Death, all while chatting with Phil at his booth about current and upcoming projects, and I have since seen another amazing one of Supergirl in Eric Delos Santos' CAF gallery that I unfortunately did not see in person.

On the last day of the convention, I asked Phil if he would mind doing a quick headsketch for me in my sketchbook, so I could add a little something to my collection. He said sure, and asked what I would like. I asked if the "devil girl" had a name, and he said no, not yet, and I said that I've liked what I've seen of her in his Uberbot paintings and the painting he had done for the convention. He said he would draw her for me, and then did what you see above! Good stuff yet again from Phil!

It's always great to catch up with him and see what he's working on and find out what's next. I might just have to start saving my pennies for a painting...
