Description
About the author.
Louis-Michel Carpentier
(b. 24/3/1944, Belgium)

After his education at l'Académie des Beaux-arts in Brussels, Louis-Michel Carpentier started working at the Belvision studios. There, he worked on the animation movies of 'Astérix', 'Tintin' and 'Lucky Luke'. Starting in 1975, Carpentier adapted a few novels by the countess De Ségur to comics at Casterman. In 1980, he began a collaboration with scenario writer Raoul Cauvin. They started out with the series 'Les Toyottes' at Casterman and later at Lombard. In addition, they did 'L'Année de la Bière' at Archers, a series that was later continued at Dupuis under the name 'Du Cûté de Chez Poje'. This gag series about a pub is also published in several local dialects.

With Claude Armant, he made 'Humour en Tranch(é)es' in 1985, an album full of black humour. He continued this series on his own under the title 'Le Jeur le Plus Con' at his own publishing house Top Game. He also teamed up with fellow artists Malik, Kox and Jidéhem to create the collective album 'Chansons Cochonnes'.
