Description
This 7 page story is from the very first comic, a Charleton E-MAN, that I picked up at around 4 years of age. I instantly fell in love with the art of John Byrne. It not only inspired me to start collecting comics but to start drawing as well. Since that day I decided I wanted to be a comic book artist and I never looked back. To actually own these originals gives me a feeling that I just can not put in to words. Many thanks to my friend, Jim Warden, for helping me procure it!

I read about the purchase of these pages in the book GRAILPAGES. It must be an incredible feeling to own the pages of the story that inspired you to become a comic book artist. Wonderful story and, as always, incredible art by Byrne.

Holding these pages in my hands for the first time was surreal to say the least. Theres no one on the planet who could appreciate having them more than me. Thanks for the kind words!

I was blessed to be given the chance to purchase the "twinkles" Rog 200 vs. Auntie Decay!" original art from the relaunch of Eman, through Jim Warren. I was in eighth grade when this hit the stands and like you, knowing the low amount of actual pages this beloved character ever appeared (something like 33?) I too have a surreal moment everytime I glance at it to know I personally own one! The art and character was the main drive in my creative jucies from very early on. Hats off to an amazing collection! It just doesn't get any better than that. You know, there isn't an original Byrne/Austin X-men I would ever trade for my page; ) Life is GOOD!

The ROG 2000 stories were often worth the price of admission all by themselves, but I have to admit the story of how the pages in this gallery inspired you to become an artist adds something even more to my appreciation of young Mr. Byrne's art.
