DescriptionACQUISITION DATE: 2009SOURCE: Direct OWNER HISTORY: 1 DIMENSIONS: 11 x 17 STOCK: Bristol CREATION DATE: 2009 SIGNATURE: Yes PUBLICATION: N/A I had gotten the idea for a Slave Leia commission from Steve at SuperCon last year when I stumbled upon a small SL drawing while going through his artwork. I was going to just pick that one up, but eventually decided against it because it was just too small and I wasn’t quite happy with the face. I figured that at some point I would just get my own Leia commission and have him really go all out on the face, which as some of you may know is the most critical part of any female drawing for me. As SuperCon was coming around again, I decided to try and time the project to coincide with the show, so I would be able to pick the piece up there. Needless to say, the timing and the drawing worked out beautifully! With every new piece, I become a bigger and bigger fan of Steve’s artistry and skill. Him being a great guy to boot is just icing on the cake! So thanks buddy! Can’t wait for my next slice of that sweet Mannion cake! Social/Sharing |

I'm liking this guy more and more. What's up with his new signature?

Dude, you wouldn't believe how many different signatures the guy has! I think every piece I've gotten is signed differently! LOL! But who cares? As long as he keeps drawing like THIS, he can sign it any damn way he wants! LOL!

Eric, just when you think you have his coolest work yet, you pick up something like this. A beautiful piece indeed. Congratulations Eric!!!

Leia's face and body have a very Dave Stevens-ish (Stevenesque? whatever...) quality to them, which is obviously a compliment. Terrific job, might consider getting something from him myself. Maybe if I can get to Super-Con in 2010?!?

I was finally able to get a translation of what Jabba is saying, "It's good to be the Hutt".

Don't know what the heck he was saying, but I sure as hell know why he's drooling! LOL!

Another that the scan doesn't show the life of the art... I loved seeing this one in person before you. The great ink work and slight feathering of pencil was quite a treat to study in person. Steve Always bangs out the best, with that zany touch only he can bring. Quite a nice treat to your gallery on this one I'd say. CheerZ!

Well Eric, what can I say. . . . in this piece we have an artist I've never heard of and a subject matter in which I am not interested. However, experience tells me that because it is in your gallery, I know that if I check it out I won't be disappointed. So, I am very pleasantly surprised with this spectacular piece, with soft luscious, ummm, brush work that evinces Stevens, Wrightson and a little Shawn McManus. Judging from the comments on these boards, Jabba isn't the only one who is drooling. Captivating Congratulations!
