Description

This was the gem amongst all gems that I discovered at Fan Expo in Canada. Scrunched in between artists was the great Ty Templeton and his one big book of original art for sale. In there, were the many Silver Age Elseworlds pages that were mock pages which were send offs of those crazy and fun silver age pages often seen in Adventure Comics. The Elseworlds 80-page Giant never really saw the light of day b/c of a controversial story with Superbaby finding his way into a microwave. All the copies were pulped in the USA and only 1500 copies made it to the UK. The best part of this comic were these mock title splash pages and there it was amongst all the other pages (which all sold by the end of the con-naked batman with the snake was snatched up and a wonder girl being fought over by bird boy and fish boy etc disappeared as well) and I couldn't believe it was there, for sale, and for such a great price !!! Ty Templeton is the master of such comic mock ups. Check out his Hoverboy Comics --he is so convincing you would think Hoverboy really existed (www.hoveryboy.com). Thanks Ty and thanks Mark for scripting such a funny page and getting this gem made travelling to Toronto all the more worth it (but there were several reasons why I love Toronto .but this was icing on the cake !!)
