Sandro Angiolini started to draw comics in 1941.... he drew everything, western, humor, music-sheets, illustrations, covers... but his great success arrived in the late 60's and in the early 70's with ISABELLA and VARTAN two important and successful serial pocket comics for adults.

Thanks for your comment from a fellow Fumetti fan - I was hooked in the early 70s when I found an Italian newsagent in Soho that stocked these little books - I still have a large number of them including by Angiolini but my favourites were Biancaneve by Frollo and Maghella (but then I was always into boobs!)

My great friend Dino Leonetti (1937-2006 , please see him in my gallery) created MAGHELLA after the success of Biancaneve. He sold the character to Adelina Tattilo Editiones, who published ONLY ONE giant iussue of Maghella.... Later Dino sold Maghella to Ediperiodici Editiones who published a lot of iussues with great success. The excellent covers was painted by another friend Averardo Ciriello (about 96 years old)
