Description

A beautiful preliminary drawing from Gil Kane for Captain Marvel #20 (reprinted in Giant-Size Captain Marvel Vol. 1 which is where I originally read it.) This is in all honesty one of the best comics that I have ever ready, Incredibly heavy in the way that 70's comic could be. I had this issue as a hand-me-down when I was a kid - it was the ONLY comic book at my grandmother's house and I read it ever ytime I went there, never taking it home with me.
I absorbed it when I was pretty young but the tone of those stories plus Kane's "faces full of sorrow" really left an impression on me. Many thanks to George Hagenauer for this wonderful piece.
