Description
(Obtained at Comic Shop 'De Stripspecialist' in Breda Holland, during a signing-session, november 2009)

Artist Barry Kitson was inclined to draw me up something on the first page in my sketchbook. Something with Batman in it - and possibly a tombstone.
I cannot reproduce how magical it was to be witnessing Barry, setting up this piece in bold marker (upside-down to me as I was sitting across the table), trapping shapes in between growing darkness, for having things evolve, steadily yet scriblingly, into an elaborate nighttime graveyard, using sharpies or occasionally opting for bold marker yet some more, with the Batman calmly overseeing a figure menacing what should be a final resting place, as such a figure unescapably self-reminiscent – while conversating with me, on topics such as the merits or disadvantages of text-messaging, or how a notion like a ‘lobster johnson’ could be perceived in multiple ways.

This piece, both as the experience of it, means a lot to me.
Like how girls would maybe be sayin' it on TV: “Aww, couldn’t you just die?”
I sort of feel as ‘though I could. But not just yet.

[dimensions: A4].

Ah, I see Barry's been rushing it again....if only he'd learn the use of detail, and take his time to do it properly....
