O'Barr, James - The Crow pg 133

One of the more profound works in comics, I'm very proud to own a page from this. A true masterpiece/nightmare by James O'Barr, I can't read this book without becoming totally engrossed in it. When I saw Mitch Itkowitz had pages on his site, I couldn't pass this one up. Featuring Eric and his Barracuda, this page is oversized at 14 x 22", and the next-to-last panel is glued onto the board. I'm looking forward to meeting James again so I can ask him about what may lie underneath. I'm borrowing Daniel Storm's page numbering technique on this, as I no longer have the original issues, only Graphitti's excellent hardcover edition, so the "In Memory Of Brandon Lee" dedication page is page 1. The page also features a lot of zip-a-tone, and whiteout used for artistic enhancement. The look of this piece matches the mood of the book; bleak, dreary, with an overall sense of doom. A fitting example from a stunning work.
