Another Christmas, another piece from The Black Cat, I'm delighted to say
As I've said before, anyone who has missed out on the work of DeviantArt's The Black Cat has missed out on an absolute treat, which can be seen
here.
Working on the principle that Batman adopted all his Robin's; Dick (now abuot 11), Jason (about 9) and Tim (about 5) in very rapid sequence, and even more recently the toddler Terry McGinnis (<1) from Batman Beyond, she has created a coherent, respectful, almost illegally cute and utterly hilarious series of 'slices of life'. Notably the boys erratically functional relationships with their Dad (More down to him than them).
This is being posted in the last weekend before Christmas, the fourth Sunday of Advent, and is usually a hectic hustle and bustle in an attempt to pick up that last minute present you'd forgotten about, or seeking out that deal for such and such.
And in the midst of it all, I think we need a moment or two of calm, to think again about what is truly important in life. Is it the presents, is it the parties... or is it as simple as spending time with those you love.
In a world with super-powered dogs (even plushie versions of them) and where your Dad owns THE coolest car in the world, and where kanga's roam free (and yes, it's a kanga, it completes the DC Trinity's presence)... sometimes it's nice to just sit in the warm and watch the snow fall in the company of someone you love. (The fact that Timmy, who is usually on the receiving end of Terry's more... boisterous (okay VIOLENT) displays of affection, is cuddling his little brother in a moment of perfect peace makes it just wonderful IMHO)
Seasons greetings to all on CAF, thanks for the sharing and the feedback!
