Go Girl Cover by Timmons

This is the original cover drawing for Go Girl #4 by Anne Timmons. Go Girl was the daughter of 60's heroine Go Go Girl (which is why her costume resembles a go go outfit) who inherited her powers. This short-lived series was written by Trina Robbins, a part of the 70's underground comic scene who went mainstream. The combination of the cute big-eyed face and the delightful flying shot, along with the slight element of weird and the price are what sold this piece, which I bought directly from Timmons and Robbins in a face to face transaction.

Here and on my wall are the only places where you can see this piece as it was originally drawn. Not only did the publisher do the mouth, etc. with the lines in color, they redid the mouth so that the lips are parted and opened the right eye. This, to me wrecks the perfect facial expression on the joyous flying girl.
