DescriptionI am simply blown away by the pencil work on this piece. Mike Netzer is doing some AMAZING work on his latest round of commissions. This piece is entirely done in pencil and has amazing depth.This is King Conan in all his glory. To paraphrase, he has: "Crushed his enemies, Seen them driven before him, and heared the lamentations of their women." Thulsa Doom found his reward on the end of one of Conan's pikes as well as several other villains and monsters. Red Sonja and Conan finally found a way to hook up. Glad to see those two kids so happy together. Seriously though, Mike is doing STELLAR work for reasonable prices and his turnaround times are amazingly fast. This rocks....I heard about this when Mike finished some One Minute Laters for me...I echo your sentiments..Mike is great to work with; very quick and his artwork -- as shown here -- is simply breathtaking.

Fire and wind come from the sky, from the gods of the sky. But Crom is your god, Crom and he lives in the earth. Once, giants lived in the Earth, Conan. And in the darkness of chaos, they fooled Crom, and they took from him the enigma of steel. Crom was angered. And the Earth shook. Fire and wind struck down these giants, and they threw their bodies into the waters, but in their rage, the gods forgot the secret of steel and left it on the battlefield. We who found it are just men. Not gods. Not giants. Just men. The secret of steel has always carried with it a mystery. You must learn its riddle, Conan. You must learn its discipline. For no one - no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts....STEEL YOU CAN TRUST!!! CONGRATS CHRIS!!!

This piece is Crazy! As a Conan and Red Sonja fan, This is my favorite of all your trophy walls and the real trophy for Conan appears to be the tamed she devil crouched between his legs! Congrats on another Fantastic idea put to paper!

Thanks Chris for the kind words and to everyone for the wonderful comments. Good to see this working out so well. Working with pencil and paper again is a big thrill. After more than 15 years on a computer, it's as if a new level of drawing is unfolding. I look forward to a new adventure with every piece and hope to do many more. I also hope to return to something at DC. As the publisher that was a home to me for most of my career, these drawings are developing an itch for a full comics project. Let's hope that's a premonition that's on its way to coming true.
