Description

This was meant to be a birthday present for me from my wife... for 2003. A convention sketch from the Baltimore show that September, arranged through art-collecting buddy John Higashi - Cully wanted to make it better than his usual convention sketch so he decided to finish it at home. Long story short, Cully has been really, crazily busy and only just recently got around to doing it - he was super-courteous and friendly through the entire transaction, so at least he didn't cause me any high blood pressure. I think Cul draws one of *the* most kickass Batmans around - his Bats has just a huge presence and an aura of "I *will* be the one left standing after this fight" that comes across in every illo of him I've seen Cully draw, so despite my usual penchant for collecting pics of lovely comic ladies I had to go for Batman. And I remembered some great trading card artwork that Cul had done of Nightwing, so I went for the combo. Thanks Cully, this piece rocks - pretty sweet for a "con sketch"! This is pencil and inks on 11"x17" Bristol. NOTE: This piece was published in Cully's 2005 sketchbook!
