Description
Booksketch done in Valkenswaard in 2002.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR. Philippe Delaby
(b. 1961, Belgium).
Philippe Delaby started at the Acadamy of Fine Arts at the age of fourteen. There he studied academic drawing and, fascinated by Ingres and Belgian painters, he learned the art of oil-painting. At age eighteen, Philippe Delaby became attracted to comics. He won a contest at Mons, which led to a job at Lombard publishers. His first pages were published in Tintin in 1987. His specialty became the historical genre. He created a couple of historical comics at Lombard: 'Richard Coeur de Lion,' 'Arthur au Royaume de l'Impossible' (both scenarios by Yves Duval), 'Bran' (scenario by Vernal) and the series 'L'Étoile Polaire' (scenario by Delisse). In 1998, Philippe Delaby began a new series at Dargaud with Jean Dufaux, based on historical fact, 'Murena.'.
