Description
Inscribed by George Herriman to Al Capp assistant Milt Story.

What is there to say about Herriman's artwork? Just behold and enjoy.

Until a few days ago I thought I would never own Kray Kat art, even less a Sunday. My infinite gratitude to Ulrich Merkl.

Unlike many other collectors, I, personally, prefer these late Sundays to the early ones: the geometric layouts, the scratch-out technique, the strong & bold lines, the massive blacks... The last panel is worthy of a poster! Vive le chat lunatique!

And that potato chip moon laying against the midnight black sky... I too love the later work, when Herriman's work had a different kind of physicality to it. Congratulations Jean-Paul!
