The Sands of Time

After being very impressed with his work on the Doctor Who Annuals and Storybooks In 2009 I decided to commision Andy to do me a painting featuring the very first Doctor Who. This I wanted to be a purely historical piece as that is what this first incarnation was well known for - meeting Marco Polo or Richard the Lionheart.
After some discussion I decided 1920s Egypt would be a superb background and Howard Carter would be the subject of the piece. For reasons I can't remember that proved a lot harder to realise than I'd hoped and so the description was simplified and I asked for a 'Timeless' piece.... Andy took that and turned it into this absolutely superb painting for me. An absolute pleasure to deal with such a capable and very pleasant artist, a fast turnaround too....
