Description
I won't thank Scott Williams enough for this cosmic delight !!!!
Actually when he posted his Starlin cover and put this page for sale, let's say I went crazy for it !!!!
The details on this page are what make Starlin my favorite artist, and having the Secret of the Magus two pages sequence is a dream come true !!!!!
Jim didn't wait many issues to dazzle his young readers, after making Captain Marvel the most important character of the Marvel Universe he relaunched the power of Warlock !!! Each page of these sagas are for me the best of comic art from the 70's and when you look upon the first episodes from ST you can have this extreme pleasure to contemplate Jim Starlin's own inks !!!!!!!
Now as if the art wasn't enough, even more important in my eyes is the cosmic universe he created and which later on will be a classic du genre !!!!! He will always keep true to his philosophic stories, best sci-fi ever and with a real sense of continuity !!!! For exemple I like to believe there is the idea of Infinity Abyss where Adam is sinking, already on this page 30 of a '75 Strange Tales ish !!!!!
He finally introduces Death as a major character through the CM and Warlock up until the Thanos War ( AA#7 and MTIOA#2) and ultimately to the Death of CM graphic novel...
Love to read Starlin at DC as well, and when he draws it makes all the feelings come back from these most holy moments of my youth !!!!!
Praise Jim, and Scott Thanks again !!!!!

WOW! Very cool page, I'm with you, I love the detail Starlin put into this. I loved the original Power of Warlock series by Gil Kane. Starlin's Strange Tales & Warlock ROCKED! I was just pissed off royally they decided to kill him off! Congrads! boy am I envious!

Romain - I know how much these pages mean to you. This page, with all of its amazing detail and varied perspectives has so many motifs that have been often imitated, but never quite properly duplicated. I look here and see Starlin at his absolute best, and can only imagine your glee. Cosmic congratulations my friend!

Romain....That "mirrored" central panel has always been on of my favorites. Congratulations on yet another tremendous page! The Magus Saga was a trippy, druggy, amazing body of work that totally embodies the 70s. I remember buying these comics at the local drugstore and thinking....."My God, there's nothing else even close to this out there!" Who is this Jim Starlin?!!!!

I share your admiration of this page. Unlike Michael, I find the death of Warlock makes the story all the more memorable. Almost as if he were a character in a Shakespearean tragedy, Warlock is an admirable but flawed character whose very decisions (free will) lead him to his doom. As a result, his character is irrevocably changed and he gains a deeper understanding of himself and, in the end, heroically accepts the consequences of his actions. This scene is the key to gaining this understanding.

This page is amazingly beautiful. From the complexity of the layout and inking of the middle panel to the simpleness and elegance of the last panel, it is absolutley stunning.

Wow! Your Starlin stuff is vintage, classic, de luxe! Marvellous - this page in particular is such a great design, and from Starlin's most creative period in my opinion!
