Ouch! This one really hurt! Picked this up directly from the man himself at one of my first San Diego cons about 20 years ago. I saw him walking by with his wife and baby, and just decided to follow him to his table. As soon as he hung this up on the wall behind him, I asked the price and then promptly bought it. I had the piece until about four years ago when I foolishly decided to go after a grail that was WAY out of my league. It was one of thsoe situations where I tried to raise the money with art sales, but only made it about half way. Of course by the time you realize you're not going to meet your goal, it's too late for the pieces that are already gone! :) Anyway, this piece went by way of ebay and I actually ended up ending the auction early for the buyer who made a very generous offer. The coolest thing was that he told me he was buying the piece as a gift for his best friend. Now, why don't I have friends like that?
