Darkseid vs. Thor by Brian Churilla

I discovered Brian’s work when I read the first issue of The Anchor and I was blown away. Brian is great at drawing powerful figures, terrifying creatures, and explosive battles. I’ve followed his work onto his Infinity Gauntlet series and dug up some of his older work like The Engineer and everything he’s done so far is just awesome. I originally thought about getting Brian to do a Karate Kid piece for that collection, but later though he might be better suited for my Asgard/Fourth World theme. So anyway I sent Brian a list of choices and he went with Darkseid vs. Thor and the results speak for themselves. Darkseid looks like he’s enraged by Thor’s snarling defiance and I love the masses of Kirby dots surrounding them. A huge thanks to Brian for this piece!

I really think this fight would come down to a fist fight. Darkseid would try his Omega Beams and Thor would block them with Mjolnir. Thor might try out some lightning strikes but I don’t see Darkseid being bothered by mere aspects of the weather. So then it would be a brawl. I think Thor probably has more hand-to-hand experience but is Darkseid stronger? I don’t know. Just like I don’t know how this fight would end.
