I cannot believe I am typing this but this is my 1000th post on CAF. Bill Cox's dedication and work on this site has changed this hobby for the better

. I wanted something spectacular and personal gratifying for this 1000th post and John Watson outdid himself and delivered a great image. The groundbreaking Camelot 3000 mini-series retold the Arthurian legend against a futuristic backdrop. My beloved Legion of Superheroes is based a 1000 years in the future. The original cover from Issue 5 features a menacing Morgan Le Fay. Morgan's Legion counterpart is the villianess, Emerald Empress. A Grail cover of mine to find is Legion of Superheroes Issue 303 which featured Supergirl. Brainiac 5 , Shrinking Violet and Colossal Boy trapped in the Evil Eye. With all this synchronicity , this cover was a perfect subject for the re-Legion treatment.

John Watson, who has been amazing and gracious not just with this commission but consistently with pencils and inks blended the best of Brian Bollard and Keith Giffen's vision of the future.

Looking back over six years & 1000 posts, I still have not found pages I hoped to find (still searching for the Supergirl Great Darkness.pages ) However, I have found pages I never even dreamed existed. I have had one or two negative experiences but for the most part it has been 1000 times better than I could ever imagined, meeting artists and making friendships that go way beyong this website.

Its been a wild ride and I believe the best is yet to come. Thank you one and all. Long live the Legion and CAF !!

Very very cool. This is superb. Watson has always seemed to put more effort into his DC work. The character just look better and this looks even better than his painting.

Well said and Congrats on your 1000th post and I really love this cover and I even thought this was Vi as the Emerald Empress (remember when the eye took her over). It is as inspired as your posting comment !

This is a cool piece. I'm going back and collecting/recollecting all the Legions from the 80's to present. So I love seeing Legion art.

This may be my favorite piece of your Re-Legion homages! John Watson did a stellar job (Or is it interstellar job?) of mimicking John Bolland's Camelot 3000 cover to create this fabulous alternative Legion of Super-Heroes cover. Amazing work!
