Spectacular title splash page! Marie Severin is so good
Love the angle of the shot here. Severin's multilevel talent continues to be impressive even all these years later.
I say it over and over Marie was so underrated and was so important to Marvel through many years.
Wow! Cool Marie Severin splash for Spectacular Spider-man #54! Marie Severin was one of the early members of the original Marvel Bullpen. She worked on more comic book titles than a lot of bullpen artists, but rarely got the attention other artists did. Nevertheless, she was very competent and very talented. This is a classic example of her work. Great pick-up, congrats!
This is the kind of splash page I loved to see back then. Awesome shot of swinging Spidey and totally authentic New York architecture! Awesome.
