DescriptionHere is a classic tale of a new girl trying to fit in with the "In Crowd" only to find it has a seedy underside. Originally, the story was about a girl who got into trouble and was forced by the police to "go undercover" and help smash a teen Communist club... that was changed in this story to be a gambling club. Ray Bailey worked with Caniff and was heavily influenced by Noel Sickles. But his heavy spotting of black seemed all his own. It may have been to give him some speed, but he never hesitated to fill very large, solid shapes with black ink as you can see with the shadows and solid sweaters and skirts on this page..Social/Sharing |
