Dayton Kid illustration by Milton Caniff

Very cool production piece by Milton Caniff. There is a large square with the Dayton Kid and plane that is a stat as are the words. The rest of the art and backgrounds are original. Moving and personal text from Caniff. Dated 12/25/60, not sure where it was used. To me this has a very Miyazaki feel to it and it makes me wonder what greatness would have happened if these two aviation lovers and conspired together on a project but alas, they were of different times and their paths didn't cross. Somewhat like Jiro in the Wind Also Rises getting inspiration from a foreign admired pioneer in his dreams, I can see Miyazaki having similar dreams of encouragement from Caniff.
