Description
I arrived at the Columbus convention center on Friday, the day before the 2011 Wizardworld Mid-Ohio. After I had registered for my table, I wandered around the convention center and happened upon a small comic shop. To my surprise and delight, who should wander in next but Stephanie Hans and SHIELD cover artist Gerald Parel! They were scheduled to do a book signing, but I was the only one in the shop who knew who they were. We had an excellent conversation about SHIELD, French art supplies, and digital coloring vs traditional painting. While we talked, Gerald sketched me this amazing headsketch of Michelangelo Buonarroti, a main character in the recent SHIELD series. Thank you so much, Gerald and Stephanie!

Thanks for the great back story, John. I had a chance to meet them both at the NYCC last week and both were very nice. Stephanie had done an AMAZING Freeze for me so I thought it only fitting to bring her (and Gerald) a bottle of wine as a thank you gift. She was very thankful and we had a nice conversation about her work and progression. Gerald is HIGH on my list. His work is really something special as well. Congrats!!
