If my recommendations should mean anything to you,
Sara Richard is a name to keep an eye on. Her style is unique and beautiful, full of motion and vibrant energy.
She has done work for Hasbro, and is moving a little more into the comics side of things (A pin up for Atomic Robo and a new childrens book "
Kitty and Dino" coming soon).
I first "met" her through seeing a few sketchcards she's done for Marvel (especially a couple of her pieces using Nightcrawler) and knew this was someone whose work I REALLY wanted in my collection.
Having seen that she seemed to have a fondness for some of the not=quite A-list Marvel characters, I thought she might get a kick out of a Doug and "Warlock as his armour" piece.
She accepted with alacrity and this is the end result. Apparently the choice of Soundwave was her whim, but since he happens to be my favourite Transformer, I couldn't be happier.
I love Warlock's happy expression at being so helpful and Doug's less sanguine reaction to the thought of having to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Ravage, Rumble and Laserbeak! (And without the benefit of even being able to fold up into the shape of a cassette tape!)
Sara was a delight to deal with, and I thoroughly recommend her to anyone looking for something a little different from the norm.
