Gutsman by Erik Kriek done at the Stripdagen in 2004 het in Themapark Archeon.
Erik Kriek (b. 1966, The Netherlands)
Amsterdam-based artist Erik Kriek has a graphic style somewhat similar to that of Charles Burns artwork. His main character is called Gutsman, an anti-superhero whom Erik Kriek uses to parody the golden age of comics, particularly superheroes and E.C. comics. Gutsman comics are often wordless and in black and white. Kriek often appears in Gutsman comics, and Gutsman is always victorious over him.
Erik Kriek publishes regularly in Zone 5300 magazine. In 1998, he exhibited his work at Galerie Lambiek, a festive happening which also showcased the Rietveld Academy-trained artist's talents as a painter and lithographer. When he's not sweating it out over the drawing board, Erik can be seen on stage at various Irish bars, as a singer and banjo player. All Gutsman aficionados know that their man appreciates being offered a pint at such occasions.
