Black Panther #6 COVER by J. Scott Campbell (ft Shuri, Morlun)

Like many I love JSC’s work and am super excited about this pick-up! At Wondercon 2012 this year I was flipping through the prelims Scott had for sale when I saw a small sketch of the cover for Black Panther 6. I told his brother Cory I always liked that cover and he mentioned that he actually though he still had it at home and to send him a follow-up e-mail. So I did, and he did! He also had the cover to Black Panther 5 – another awesome cover as it has T’Challa and Storm on it. I liked that one as well and so Cori and I worked out a deal for both!

Black Panther is one of my favorite characters and I like this cover particularly because of Scott’s interpretation of T’Challa’s sister, Shuri, during her stint as the Black Panther. It also has a menacing Morlun – though parts of Straczynski’s run on Amazing Spider-man were controversial I really enjoyed the first arc and the relentless nature of the villain. Thanks to Cory and Scott for working with me on this – I reached out thinking I may be able to pick up 1 piece but ended up with 2. Sweet result!
