This was originally slated for the "New 52" 2 page origin stories, but with Gary Frank about to re-imagine and completely blow the doors off the old Superman story in "Superman: Secret Origins" this was held out of the New 52 and published in DC Universe: Origins and was part of the back cover montage of that collected edition.

I love the nod to Neal Adam's landmark Superman 233 cover, and the perfect composition of the thematic elements everyone remembers from Superman's origin.

I am a huge fan of Gary's work on this character. I really think it's one of those "once in a decade" pairings of character and creator and I am thrilled to have this piece. I have digitally added the word balloons and title. I've included images of the piece as published and in its original art form without wording.

Gary Frank was born to draw Supes. (BTW...I know a guy who can do an overlay for you.)

I love that Neal Adams 233 cover! And while this piece isn't going to make anyone forget that classic image, it is none the less a phenomenal tribute! Gary has done some amazing work with this character and this piece is a prime example of that. Congratulations, you are one lucky guy! Wow!
