I must admit that Bob Lubbers (here he signed with his pen name Bob Lewis) isn't among those American comic artists I know very well and I can't remember if I ever read this series ... But when I saw this strip for sale on tavoleoriginali.net (thanks Francesco!) I was instantly hooked.
In fact, there's almost everything you could want in an adventure strip: the hero in action at risk of his life, the Asian jungle with (of course) a tiger, a damsel in distress, a bad (and quite sarcastic) guy, the "deus ex machina"...
Not to mention that the art is gorgeous and the composition of the strip is simply perfect in and of itself (how I like that 2nd panel!).
As a final cool note, the strip was published EXACTLY 50 years ago!

Great daily. It is a great piece as Bob worked on both Tarzan and X-9 and got to a bit of both themes here. I really like these earlier Lubber's x-9 dailies. My Avatar is from one I own.
