Description

This is from a three-page sequence from Starman #14. No major or even recurring characters are featured, but it's a lovely scene, both visually and poingantly written by James Robinson. I have the latter two pages of the three (acquired from a dealer at the 1996 Chicago Comic Con, my first convention). I'd love to complete the set with Page 4.

Though part of a sequence, this page stands out thanks to the art deco design element in the bottom panel. It's typical of the great work Harris did on Starman back in the 1990s. I also appreciate this page for the use of Zip-a-Tone (which I doubt is even on the market anymore) to convey shadow and for the use of ink smudges to give the character a loot of sootiness from the fire.
