Description

This is the last page from the Roy Thomas-written and Dick Giordano-illustrated Jonni Thunder limited series from 1983. Though the lettering balloons/captions are a little rough in condition, it's a treasured page. I love Earth-2 legacy characters, and to own some Giordano work is a thrill.

The lettering is all pasted on, save for the "-FIN-" in the lower right corner, which is whiteout on a black-marker background. Though not wholly apparent in the scan, there are plenty of blueline-pencil marks, not to mention a significant whiteout correction at the right side of Panel 4 (apparently to cover a panel border Giordano decided to remove). There's also an interesting use of ink and whiteout in Panel 3 to create a flame and smoke effect.

Other notable things on this board is how the sound effect in Panel 6 has been cut out to wrap around Jonni's snapping fingers and the presence of numerous editing marks in blue pencil. Also of note is the fact that while this is Page 24 of the issue (and the final page of the series), it's Page 31 of the final printed product, as noted at the top right margin in black marker.
