Karl the Viking Cover (1963) Prelim by Don Lawrence

This is an original ink / pen comic cover plate(15x22 inch) created in the 1960s for the series entitled "Karl the Viking". Considering that this piece is over 50 years old, it is in great shape. All in one solid piece, minor yellowing along the edges, with notes along the edges by the artist to prove it's the real thing. Additional photos show the border details, including the name of the label-- Lion Comics. The art board was made in England by Whatman Co. with it's name as well as a Lion Publications Stamp on the back of the board. When viewed in person you can easily see the hand strokes of ink/marker in all the drawings.These prelims are very rare and cover proofs like this even more so.
