This is a grail for me right up there with Simon getting Cap's shield. I opened this issue to this page so many times as a youth and this may just be my new favorite Avengers page! Thanks so much to Mike for reaching out to me. As the editor said in the notes- 'Well done George' and the inks on this are amazing. Just love it! Thanks for the fun advertisement Lee- man if only I got those catalogs back in the day!

Kirk, This is MY all-time favorite page from my favorite Avengers Story! This would be a grail for me as well. I'm so envious, but glad it found a great home. Like you, I too gazed at this page over and over again. It's so incredible! I was always wondering when it might turn up somewhere. Congratulations!

I was frothing at the mouth when this page came up for sale on eBay back in 2007. I think Lovitz outbid me to place this beauty in his collection at the time, but it looks great in your expanding collection. To me, this issue is where Marcos excelled with inking George's pencils, and their run together in the 160s was magical.

So agree Philip and thanks for the kind words~ not sure Michael ever owned this though. I bought it via Burkey so who knows who the real seller was. I let RomitaMan know it was a dream piece and he took good care of me.

Strange I have not commented on this splash before . Quality wise, the Perez Marcos collaboration on the Avengers is an example of top penciled - inker combo. Getting hold of examples from that run is so hard !!! And you have a splash , with that sequence of panels at the top that is so...Perez! Excellent pick-up!
