Karate Kid vs. Shadowcat by Daniel Govar

I've been watching Daniel's art online for a while now and when I saw that he was coming to Wizard World New Orleans this year I knew that I wanted to commission him. Daniel's done a few Kitty Pryde commissions and they looked great so I chose her as the opponent for this one. Daniel went all-out with this one, throwing in some nice tones, Excalibur's Lighthouse in the background and even Lockheed! Yet again I had problems getting the colors to scan properly, so you can't tell how good this looks in person. Anyway, thanks again to Daniel for all his effort!

Due to her one-time posession by Ogun and her later training with Wolverine and Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde is a master of karate, aikido, ninjutsu, krav maga, and swordsmanship. She can also phase any part of her body, she's a genius and Lockheed the fire-breathing dragon always has her back. That said, she might last thirty seconds against Val Armorr. Karate Kid is used to phasing powers thanks to Phantom Girl, and he's certainly not afraid to punch a dragon. Ha! But seriously, Val just outclasses Kitty as a fighter and her power will only help her for so long. He just better hope that afterwards Colossus doesn't come after him!

agree to disagree. Kitty would own him. Lockheed would set him on fire (or at least distract him) and Kitty would slice and dice. Having said that though, I dont think Kitty would ever fight Val. seems more like they'd get a soda together or something =P Regardless, awesome piece

Daniel's compositions are so electric and fresh. I LOVE this match-up and Daniel's luminous execution. Wow!
