Apparently a "Try-out" panel from around 1950; published in one of Bill Pearson's Woodwork Catalogs (hope that's the right title) and the more recent Vanguard Krenkel book.

Fantastic find! Many hallmarks of his later work here and this is such highly refined drawing despite how young he was. Just love that both of his sitters for this are famous EC artists as well!
