Artwork Details

DescriptionWhile browsing eBay (again), and searching for "Wizard Original Art", I ran across two pieces by Kevin Rasel, which I thought were just astounding, and couldn't believe were available for such a fair price.Doing some research, I found Rasel did many comic book pages and lots of pretty girls pin ups in savage settings (most scantily clad, when clad at all), but really liked the detail in his works. I'm somewhat surprised this artist never developed a larger following, but there are many very talented individuals in all disciplines who never achieve the laurels they so rightly deserve. For my part, I think these will look just awesome once framed and matted. This piece appears a little rough around the edges, but the edges will be held in place under matting, so I think it will look just fine... I love the Wizards and Sorcery theme, and with so many individuals here posting such a diverse and eclectic selection of material, I thought these would fit right in... Updated 2/18/2013 I got this matted, framed, and preserved. It looks really great now, especially with the somewhat rough outline now being minimalized with the mat. I changed the name to Necromancer, as he appears to be summoning something from the Sorcerer's cauldron... Since there's no other name I'm aware, once again... I had chose something I felt was fitting. Not sure when Kevin signed this in gold ink, but there's also the original RAS '93... It should last easily another 20 years now... Social/Sharing |

Of your two Kevin Rasel pieces, I like this one more. I too did some checking and found Kevin hardly did any work in the comics industry. Here is a link to his Comic Book Database page that shows everything he did: http://www.comicbookdb.com/creator.php?ID=19805 As for this piece, I think it is really well drawn. In my opinion Kevin would be great working on a Doctor Strange title for Marvel.

I like comic book pages too, but prefer the larger images for presentation purposes when I'm matting and framing these... Thanks for your comments!
