Mickey Mouse Pictures in every room

19.75 x 27" heavy cardboard standee used to promote the 1934-5 series of Disney pictures that featured hand transfered enamels painted in reverse on glass and sold by the Reliance Picture Frame Company. The company was named after the renowned yacht,"Reliance",winner of the America's Cup and pride of the United States in 1903. The third generation company formed by three brothers in Manhatten,NY in 1903 is now headquartered in Dover, NJ.. These were the first framed Disney pictures sold and preceeded the sale of animation cels in 1938. Besides the standee shown here there are two others known to exist. One with the bottom five inches missing was sold in Hakes Auction #192 (Sept. 1997) and the other is inscribed with the autographs of the three original founders of the company owned by the eldery son of one.
