Description
Ebay features a passel of obscure artists, mostly from Latin America, who, through some USA agent, sell pin up pictures. Most of them are hacks. Some of them are really talented but they almost always follow two rules that l hate: 1. Tie your ladies into comics, even if it makes no sense. 2. Slutty poses sell. I recently bought four of these from four different artists in rapid succession. This is the least defensible of the four.

I'm not much of a comic book fan but if Supergirl ever wore thong panties or had hair to her butt, I think I would have heard about it. Tacking an S emblem onto her thong doesn't make her Supergirl. The face is great, it is what sold the picture for me. A pretty woman's face face is the hardest thing to draw, period, and he has it down, the expression is wonderful, the eye contact. Great hair and the pose is also great. OK, the arm is a little dicey. The butt ruins the picture. You may be saying, the butt is cute, kind of saucy as shown. That's because I edited it. The full shot is below. What do you think, should I have cut the image a little higher or a little lower?

If I display it on the wall, cutting the picture would be sacreligious as would folding it. Maybe I'll stick something else in front of that part of it, like a "censored" sign or find an undisplayed piece of suitable size that goes with it and put that in the frame.

Update: It is on the wall. I had some Princess Daphne images which were reorganized into a 6" by 12" sheet and put in the bottom. She looks as much or more like Princess Daphne than like Supergirl.

I know what you mean. I think the drawings would probably sell better if actual costumes ( vs lingerie ) were drawn.

What they do is (if you will excuse the expression) half assed. If you're selling a stand-alone sexy pin up, do it. If you are doing a picture of an existing character, make her recognizable as such. With this, the comic book guys are going, "That's not Supergirl" and the pin up collectors are going, "That's geeky, having a Supergirl picture."
