Not a lot going on (in terms of action) but it's a great moody page by Mike. Love how he draws buildings. Your Hellboy collection is just fantastic Andy.

At some point before this series came out I ended up with copies of the pencils and I remember pouring over them for what seemed like hours, trying to get inside the artists head to see how he came up with certain effects, etc. Like the dust moots hovering around the window in panel 2, just the way it would appear in real life! Later comparing the inks to the pencils was even more fun. Love this page and I agree Andy this opening sequence of pages from Conqueror Worm are underrated and quite exquisite.

A lot of people only know Mignola by his sketches or ocvers. What really makes him great is his ability to spin a tale frame by frame. This page, for instance, has such a nice quiet opening as we move through the ruined building until we finally wind up on the injured Hellboy. Fantastic!

Thanks for the comment - I really do need to get better scans on these pages, but I'm so far behind in scanning anything that I don't know if it will ever happen

Holy Moly! The HB opening pages are so great, and Mignola knows how to intodruce with some words and drawings. Congrats
