DescriptionWhat a strange world it is. This is another great pin-up by Jim Silke, this time of Victoria Vetri. The actress was born in San Francisco, California and attended Hollywood High School in Hollywood, California between 1959 and 1963, then attended the Los Angeles City College where she studied art. While still in her teens, she began acting and modelling. After turning down the opportunity to voice dub for Natalie Wood in West Side Story (1961), she auditioned for the title role in the Stanley Kubrick adaptation of Lolita but lost the role to Sue Lyon. Using the name Angela Dorian, she was chosen as Playboy's Playmate of the Month for the September 1967 issue and then became the 1968 Playmate of the Year. That "exposure" landed her a small role in Rosemary's Baby (also credited as "Angela Dorian") before signing signed a multi-picture contract with Warner Seven Arts. One of her first starring roles was in When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth which is the subject of this commission. Sadly, after that, she appeared in only 2 more films and a hand full of TV shows before retiring from acting. Even more sad was that she was charged with attempted murder after she allegedly shot her husband from close range inside their Hollywood apartment after an argument on Saturday, October 16, 2010. In September 2011, Vetri plead no contest to a reduced charge of attempted voluntary manslaughter and is serving up to nine years in state prison. It is a very very strange world. Social/Sharing |
