DescriptionThe Shamus collection was auctioned off by Heritage a couple of years ago. The sheer size and volume of what Martin Shamus was able to put together boggles my mind. Some of the major pieces in that collection was created by some of my favorite creators..Todd McFarlane, Sam Kieth, Dave Gibbons, and of course Jim Lee. These grandiose type collections are just becoming more and more rare because the hobby is just so expensive now.Anyway, Jim Lee really does draw one of the all time best Wolverines and this particular cover has always been a personal favorite of mine!!!! Wow, your collection has gotten so massive (and I mean that in a GOOD way) that I forgot you even got this! I got to watch Jim do all these covers back in the day, and it was quite a learning experience. Good times.

This one always struck me as "A one minute later" cover to Byrne's issue #17 from this same Volume. Same jump towards the viewer; it's just in Lee's version, Wolvie has had an opportunity to extend his arms! Love 'em both! Congrats Joe, and thanks for sharing!

I was never a big fan of most of the guys that formed Image. The one exception being Keith for me. But even I recognize that this piece is an icon of its time. A real trophy of Jim's work and of the character. Congrats.

I have always thought the best J Lee Wolverine's faces were the ones with his mask off. And this is a prime example! Amzing, this Wolverine just jumps out of the page!

That's really a perfect image of Wolverine. Iconic, really. Jim Lee's Wolverine will always be "the" Wolverine to me!
